After months of reaching for insulated pants and waterproof boots, spring is finally here! Here are some of our favorite spring bike style outfits and accessories to welcome warmer weather and longer stretches of daylight.
This is a guest blog post from Alexandra, one of our brand ambassadors in NYC.
Spring Bike Style: The Perfect Dress
With higher temperatures on the horizon, the Dash Dress from Vespertine keeps you cool during your bike commute with its breathable and lightly waterproof fabric. With its sleek sheath shape, you’ll move effortlessly from your bike commute to the boardroom. Not only does it have bike style but it's also functional, with two front pockets and 3M Reflective thread woven in to make you visible when you ride back home in the evening. All Vespertine products are proudly crafted in NYC’s Garment District, which makes me feel good about supporting a local business.

Spring Bike Style: The Bag to Match
A versatile dress deserves to be paired up with a bag that is also a Jill (or Jack) of all trades. We heard you loud and clear when you asked for us to come out with a pannier, and for Spring 2017, Po Campo added the Bergen Pannier to its Bike Bag collection! The Bergen Pannier is our largest bike bag and its super-strong Fidlock magnetic buckles are rated to hold 80 pounds. Underneath the buckles is a retractable bottom ring that slips over the axle or hook on the bottom of your rack for a third, stabilizing point of connection. The bumpy wooden planks of the Brooklyn Bridge are no match for the strength of the Bergen Pannier. And yes, it fits perfectly on the rear rack of a folding bicycle, such as a Brompton.

Spring Bike Style: The Weather Proof Jacket
However, we can’t have May flowers without April showers. Show the inclement weather that your spring bike style is up to the task with the Lululemon No Matter What jacket. With its waterproof fabric and tailored look, no one will be the wiser that you battled the elements as you stroll over to your cubicle.

Spring Bike Style is Now Just the Clothes You Wear
Bike style is more than our sartorial choices. Make sure your skin is protected as you bask in the sun with sunscreen such as Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer with Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 30 for your face. My personal favorite for my body is a spray, such as Coppertone Sport High Performance Spray so I don’t end up with the dreaded bike short tan after riding in the Five Boro Bike Tour or training for the NYC Century.
Last but certainly not least, to keep my hair looking fresh after it’s been covered under a bike helmet, Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo might just be my favorite hair product on the market. Say goodbye to oil, sweat, and odor with a few shakes of the bottle and a spray on application to clean your hair without needing to step in the shower. I like to keep a travel-size in my Bergen Pannier (which fits perfectly in its interior pockets) and a full-size bottle at home so I’m always prepared. It certainly is the finishing touch to how I express my spring bike style.
