Yesterday was forecasted to be the hottest, most humid day of Chicago’s already very hot and humid summer. My commute is about 15 miles round trip with no shower in the office. People often ask me how I manage to bike to work and show up looking presentable when it’s so miserably hot. Here’s how I do it:
At Po Campo we are already working away at some fabulous designs for 2011. One item that we have heard requests for is a Po Campo Pannier- we agreed, what an awesome idea!
Tonight Sarah and I decided to take our bikes downtown to see some of the filming of the new Transformers 3 movie. Sections of Michigan Ave. have been completely shut down this week- as well as the Michigan Ave. bridge right by the Wrigley building. It was a cool site to see- burned out cars & fake broken asphalt- and we took a few photos, but you can see some additional photos from the professionals at the Tribune here http://www.chicagotribune.com/entertainment/ct-100710-transformers-pictures,0,6815007.photogallery
Saturday was lovely here and I was able to enjoy a wonderful Chicago day by bike. It started with face painting volunteering at Kid Fest- where I got see what its like to ride in a fire truck:
So perhaps you are like me in that I have always thought it would be a great idea to know how to change my bike tire tube, I even learned how to do it at one point and since then all the little details have been lost within the depths of my brain. I have gone years without getting a flat and so far this lack of knowledge has done no harm.
